If you’ve ever been to the IFEX Exhibition, you know the feeling. The buzz of the exhibition hall, the smell of freshly cooked food drifting from demo stands, hundreds of conversations happening at once — and somewhere in the middle of it all, a team in Frylite-branded gear, ready to talk oil.
That was us. Stand E670. Three days. And honestly? We loved every minute of it.
The Build-Up Was Half the Adventure

Let’s rewind a little. Long before the doors opened at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, our team was deep in preparation mode. Lightboxes to order. Brochures to print. Merchandise to sort. Then there was the logistics of getting it all to IFEX in one piece and setting up a stand that actually looked the part.
It took coordination across marketing, sales, operations, and logistics. It took a lot of emails, a few last-minute scrambles, and at least one group chat that was pinging well past midnight. But when we walked into the hall on the morning of Day One and saw Stand E670 fully set up and ready to go — it was worth it.
Day One: “Is It Always This Busy?”
Short answer: yes. IFEX is Northern Ireland’s biggest foodservice and hospitality exhibition, and it lives up to that title. From the moment the doors opened, there was a steady flow of visitors — restaurant owners, chefs, kitchen managers, procurement teams, and plenty of familiar faces we hadn’t seen in a while.
What made it special wasn’t just the volume of people. It was the quality of conversations. One customer stopped by to tell us how much smoother their oil collection had become since switching to our service. A chef we’d never met before spent twenty minutes asking about our sustainability approach.
These aren’t things you can replicate over email. There’s something about standing in front of someone, showing them the actual product, and answering their questions in real time that no digital campaign can match.
From Buckets to BiB: A Smarter Way to Handle Cooking Oil
One of the things we were most excited to share at IFEX was our move from traditional oil buckets to Bottle-in-Box (BiB) packaging.
If you’ve ever worked in a busy kitchen, you know the reality of oil buckets: heavy, awkward to store, not exactly graceful to pour during a hectic service. They get the job done, but “getting the job done” and “doing it well” are two very different things.
Our Bottle-in-Box system is designed to change that. The boxed format stacks neatly in tight kitchen spaces, and the internal bottle allows for controlled, clean pouring with far less risk of spills or waste. It’s one of those upgrades that sounds simple until you actually use it — and then you wonder how you ever managed without it.
For kitchen teams, that means easier storage, safer handling, more controlled pouring, and cleaner work areas during service.
Beyond the day-to-day convenience, Bottle-in-Box also supports better oil management and sustainability practices — helping kitchens handle oil more responsibly while keeping operations running smoothly.
The response at IFEX was overwhelmingly positive. People get it. They want solutions that make their lives easier — and that’s exactly what we’re delivering.
More Than Oil: The Sustainability Conversation
Here’s something we noticed at IFEX: sustainability isn’t a “nice to have” in foodservice anymore. It’s a genuine priority. And when we talked to visitors about how Frylite collects, processes, and recycles used cooking oil — turning waste into a resource — the conversation shifted from polite interest to real engagement.
We’re proud that sustainability is built into how we operate, not bolted on as an afterthought. IFEX gave us the platform to share that story with a wider audience, and it clearly resonated.
So, What Did We Take Away?
Beyond the contacts, the conversations, and the content we captured for social media, IFEX 2026 reminded us of something important: relationships drive this industry. The foodservice world runs on trust, on knowing the people behind the service, on shaking someone’s hand and meaning it when you say “we’ll look after you.”
We met new potential partners. We reconnected with customers we’ve worked with for years. We showed the industry what Frylite Solutions is about — not just as an oil supplier, but as a team that genuinely cares about making kitchens run better and more sustainably.
