Frylite took part in the Samaritans Brew Monday on 28th January in our Strabane Depot.
The staff in Strabane joined in to help beat the January blues by getting together with colleagues over a brew and raise vital funds for Samaritans.
Over the last 64 years, Samaritans volunteers have helped save countless lives, but as demand for the services grows, they need your support now more than ever.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed & raised money for Samaritans. Every £5 can help save a life.

We’re giving a little back to the local economy this festive season by rewarding staff with the Christmas bonus of InStrabane gift cards.
The cards are one of a number of initiatives being rolled out by the Strabane Business Improvement District (BID) company to help maximise retail and tourism footfall in the town this Christmas.
BID Officer at Derry City and Strabane District Council, Catherine Collins, said she was delighted with the endorsement of the cards by Frylite Strabane.
“The InStrabane gift card scheme is an initiative that has captured the public’s imagination and we are delighted that Frylite have got behind it by distributing them to their staff this Christmas,” she said.
“The cards can be used at over 80 independent and national retailers all located in the Strabane area and are an ideal way for local businesses to reward staff as they can purchase them in bulk and at a discounted rate.
“The scheme also promotes a return to traditional as opposed to online shopping, locking in spend to the Strabane area, and highlighting the compelling retail offering which is available locally.
The scheme is only the second of its kind in Northern Ireland and offers access to products at shops, restaurants, bars, salons, leisure and entertainment venues in Strabane.
The cards can be valued from £5 right up to £500 and operate like any debit card where users can check the balance on the card at any time on the website or by scanning the QR code on the reverse of the card.
Research into similar schemes show that customers who redeem gift cards spend on average 40% more than the value of the card and tend to upgrade their experience with higher-margin products.
Frylite’s client base stretches all over Ireland making them the leading supplier of vegetable oil and collector of used cooking oil and hard fats on the island.
Founded in 1988 they introduced a brand new ‘complete oil management system’ to provide caterers and food companies with a ground breaking all in one supply and waste collection service.
Almost 30 years after they were formed, Frylite continue to operate at the cutting edge and forefront of the industry and last year set up a Food Waste Diversion division to help Northern Ireland companies meet new legislation about the separate disposal of food waste.
Company founder and Managing Director Eamon McCay said the company were pleased to give something back to the local economy by gifting staff the cards.
“The InStrabane gift cards are an ideal way for us to reward our dedicated team at Frylite while also helping stimulate the local economy this Christmas.
“Many of our own clients are shops and restaurants in the Strabane area and we believe it is important that local businesses support each other and promote our own retail offering.
“I would like to take the opportunity to wish all our staff and customers a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
The Strabane BID company was created last year after Strabane businesses voted in favour of becoming a Business Improvement District, where local businesses work in partnership to raise funds to improve the town centre and the surrounding environment.
The In Strabane’ cards can be purchased in up to three outlets in the town including Café Fresco and the Alley Theatre as well as available online via www.instrabanegiftcard.com.
Businesses who want to sign up can contact the BID team at the Strabane Council offices.
Congratulations and well done to all our winners who received their awards at The Frylite Charity Gala Ball on Saturday 3rd November 2018.

On Saturday 13th October 2018, Eamon McCay, founder/Managing Director of Frylite and the Senior Management team opted to sleep out overnight in Strabane Co.Tyrone to raise both awareness and funds to tackle the issue of homelessness across Ireland.
Currently we have raised over £10,000 for a variety of charities and The Frylite Sleep Out is just one part of a huge charity initiative designed to celebrate the company’s 30 years in business.
The support and generosity of everyone in Strabane and throughout Ireland has been incredible and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated.
We are so grateful for all donations and please support us by visiting our Frylite GoFundMe Page –
The Bank of Ireland (Strabane Branch) held a coffee morning on Friday 12th October in advance of The Frylite SleepOut in Strabane to raise awareness and raise funds to tackle the issue of homelessness across Ireland.
£541.00 was raised and all proceeds of the coffee morning will go to a variety of charities including the Simon Community & DePaul.
Thank you to everyone at the Bank of Ireland and the local people of Strabane who called in to the bank and supported a great cause
Eamon McCay, founder and Managing Director of Frylite, is bravely opting to sleep out overnight in Strabane Co.Tyrone to raise both awareness and funds to tackle the issue of homelessness across Ireland.
Prompted by World Homeless Day on 10th October 2018, Eamon will spend the night of Saturday, 13th October on the streets of Strabane.
Eamon acknowledges that he is fortunate in being able to choose the temporary homelessness and understands that for others it is not a choice. Almost 10,000 people described themselves as homeless in Ireland this year. That includes men, women, couples and families. These are staggering -figures, but the most important message is that we can all help.
Eamon is working in partnership with a variety of charities including DePaul, a cross-border charity supporting some of the most marginalised individuals, couples and families experiencing homelessness. Their mission is to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.
The Frylite Sleep Out is also just one part of a huge charity initiative designed to celebrate the company’s 30 years in business. Over the course of 12 months, colleagues are being encouraged to play their part in raising £30,000 to be donated to a range of nominated charities.
Eamon says “Frylite has always aimed to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Because we’re an all-Ireland business, we’ve found many ways to do this over the years and saw our 30 years in business as an even bigger opportunity to do more of the same. I personally am delighted to make this small gesture to help raise awareness of a nationwide issue.
“I would be very grateful if you can donate what you can to this most deserving of causes by visiting our Frylite GoFundMe Page – www.gofundme.com/frylite-celebrating-30years.”
